๐Ÿ‘ฅ How many players do we need to play?
Each team plays with five players on the court at one time. You must have at least two female players. The rest of the team can be any gender.

๐Ÿ”„ Can we make subs during the game?
Yes. Substitutes can join at any time during play as long as they have an Urban Rec account and have signed the latest waiver. Goalie changes must happen during a stoppage.

โฐ How long is the game?
Games are played in two twenty minute halves with a short halftime break. Each team gets one thirty second timeout per half. Timeouts do not carry over.

๐Ÿ How does the game start?
Games begin with a face off at centre court. The ball must hit the ground before anyone can play it. Players cannot hit it straight out of the air. After a goal, the scoring team drops the ball for the next face off.

๐Ÿฅ… How do we score?
A goal is scored when the ball goes into the net. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins.

๐Ÿงค What can the goalie do?
Goalies can freeze the ball if any part of their body is touching the crease. To restart play, they drop the ball beside or behind the net. Goalies cannot cross the centreline and may not score. If a team pulls the goalie, another player can take their spot.

๐Ÿšท What are the crease rules?
Players cannot enter the crease. If there is no marked crease, stay roughly four feet away from the net. You can screen or deflect the ball from outside the crease.

๐Ÿ“ What happens when the ball goes out of bounds?
The non-offending team gets possession. Opponents must give five feet and three seconds before defending. Play resumes once the ball is moved or after the three seconds pass.

๐Ÿ›‘ What fouls should we avoid?
No high sticking, body contact, poking at the goalie, or slapshots. Sticks must stay below the waist. No tying up a stick unless the player has the ball. No setting picks or intentional contact.

๐Ÿ™… Are there any violations to watch for?
Yes. Players cannot dive, sprawl, or drop to a knee to block. No hand passes are allowed unless deflected. Goalies can pass with their glove. If a goalie commits a foul outside the crease, the other team gets a penalty shot.
