LEAGUE INFORMATION

It’s the start of a new decade and what a solid opening stance it’s been. We’ve had the Summer of Cricket, the Big Bash and just around the corner, the T20 Cricket World Cup will be on our home soil.  

… Yet the biggest cricketing series of the year is here! 

Urban Rec’s Backyard Cricket Summer Series

Whether it’d be your cousin who’d make rules up after every ball or your absolute gun sister smashing boundaries off your top-of-off bowling, gather your family and friends for a Summer of Cricket series that just feels like the good old days. We’ve got one hand one bounce, six & out, first ball is not out, tippity run and the lot! The esky’s are full, bbq’s are on and the tunes are pumping. 

Each week your team will be playing at a different location – on grass, concrete and an indoor centre. There’s no home ground advantage here ... so no excuses. Teams will play in a league format where we’ll have one winner at the end of the tri-series and of course in Urban Rec style, we’ll have a prize for the FUN team too.

🏅 SKILL LEVEL: This league is for ALL SKILL LEVELS. We want all players to get well involved in this series, our host’s will be there with you every step of the way to teach and coach you the game throughout the season.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 TEAM SIZE: There are 7 people required on the field at all times. Minimum 2 of either gender at any time. We recommend having a team list of at least 12 people to allow for subs, and players attendance. Click to view Team Roster Instructions and Default & Subs Policy.

🌤 OUTDOOR FIELDS: Because some of the fields of the series are outdoors, you can expect about 1-3 rescheduled games per season. BUT we will always ensure your paid games are played. (not cancelled, just rescheduled) Our wet weather policy can be found here.

🤸 YOUR DEDICATED STAFF: Our staff members will look after you throughout the series. Your Event Host is the person overseeing your game, teaching you the rules and ensuring you are playing fair and fun. Your League Manager is your main point of contact and helps ensure your league is an epic experience.

🎽 WHAT TO BRING:  We provide all the equipment you need. Wear normal runners, active wear. Make sure you bring a black, and a white t-shirt each week. Your team do have the option to nominate a team colour, but make sure you talk to your League Manager before you order anything.

🚘 GETTING THERE:  As we are going for a true blue backyard cricket tour, our locations each week will change. We will email the league each week on your venue, parking and transport location. The locations are Roberston Road Fields (Moore Park), Camperdown Tennis Centre (Camperdown) and All Sorts Indoor Centre (Alexandria)

🍺 YOUR LOCAL CLUBHOUSE: We work with a ton of great venues for you to socialise after the game. Your local clubhouse, The Moore Park View Hotel, is usually a sponsor venue and provides prizing for our leagues. For a list of all the Urban Rec clubhouses and to find your nearest, click here.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦  TEAM REGISTRATION:  Team rego is payable upfront, and that fee is all you will have to pay. You can choose how many people you’d like to have on the team including subs. The fee’s for this league are at the bottom.

🙋 INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION: Don’t have a team? No problem, register as an individual, and we will match you with a team, cost is $135 per person. That is the only cost you will have for the season. Individual Player FAQs.
