WHAT THE FECK IS URBAN REC? Well… it’s a recreational sports club with a social twist. We run 10 sports, and 32 leagues and locations across Sydney & Canberra. But we’re famous for offering simple individual registration options (hello new bff’s), really epic social sporting events, and FUN points – which is how we keep the fun teams playing and the douche-bags out. 

Once you create an account, you have the access to some cool shit. FREE subs page, discounts at UR Clubhouses, oh and the ability to register for one of our sports leagues, tournaments, or events. 

BUT, everyone who plays or joins in anywhere, anytime with Urban Rec, must have an  URaccount and have read our waiver and code of conduct (below).  Because you are all agreeing to play in the spirit of good-times, and respect for your fellow club members. 

Oh – You must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate in any Urban Rec League or event. Sorry kids!

WAIVER RELEASE & INDEMNIFICATION

In consideration of the acceptance of my membership or participation in events with the Urban Rec Australia.

  • I waive all claims that I may have against the Urban Rec Australia Pty Ltd, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, agents and sponsors, or its executors, administrators, heirs, successors or assigns ("the organisers"), and release them from all claims for death, injury or damage arising out of my participation in their club, their event and its related activities, together with any costs, including legal fees.
  • I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the organisers against damage arising out of my participation in the events and its related activities.
  • I agree to comply with all the rules, regulations and instructions of the organisers.
  • In the event of injury or illness during participation, I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable by the organisers.
  • I acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and equipment during the all events and activities.
  • I hereby permit the free use of my name and picture in any broadcasts, telecasts and the press including website as they pertain to the Urban Rec their events and activities.
  • I understand that my membership or registration fee is non-transferable and not refundable.
  • I agree to have my personal details recorded and used by the Urban Rec and related parties for further communications of future related events.

RELEASE, WAIVER & INDEMNITY NOTE: THIS RELEASE FORM IS A CONTRACT WITH LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE AGREEING TO CONFIRM YOUR MEMBERSHIP

I want to participate any current, or future season of Urban Rec Australia Pty Ltd. (Urban Rec). I understand and acknowledge that the all Urban Rec sports, may involve physical risk. I understand that the games of Urban Rec sports are played on fields, courts and other surfaces whose condition are variable and unpredictable and in weather, and man-made obstacles which can change without notice, both of which could contribute to the safety of play and result in serious personal injury.

In consideration of Urban Rec accepting me as a participant during any season, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, hereby release, waive and forever discharge Urban Rec Australia Pty Ltd, its owner and sponsors and all their respective agents, officials, servants, contractors, representatives, directors, elected and appointed officials, successors and assigns of and from all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of action, whether in law or in equity, in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property howsoever caused, arising to or to arise by reason of my participation in any season of Urban Rec Australia Pty Ltd, whether as a spectator, participant, competitor or otherwise, whether prior to, during, or subsequent to this year’s season and notwithstanding that same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of any of the aforesaid. I further hereby undertake to hold and save harmless and agree to indemnify all of the aforesaid from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of, or in any way connected, with my participation in any season of Urban Rec Australia.

By clicking the below button “complete registration”, I acknowledge having read and understood the above release, waiver & indemnity. I understand that all Urban Rec Sports requires physical exertion and that I should consult a physician before participating in this or any other strenuous physical activity.

Code of Conduct

Participants of Urban Rec are expected to behave with civility and appropriate conduct. When you agree to join Urban Rec you indicate, by your registration, that you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.

No refunds will be given for loss of membership privileges due to breach of the Code of Conduct.

All members are encouraged to exercise good judgment in caring for the safety of others as well as themselves. In the event you witness or experience threatening or inappropriate behavior by another individual, please report the situation immediately to Urban Rec staff or management. Standards of Conduct include, but are not limited to, the examples outlined below. The following types of conduct are specifically prohibited and may result in loss of membership:

  1. Aggressive Behavior: You may not promote or engage in physical abuse, verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, coercion and/or other conduct, which threatens or endangers the health or safety of any person. You may not use “fighting words” to harass any employee or participant. If you engage in behavior that is considered aggressive, then your actions may result in a suspension (of varying length) or permanent expulsion.

    All leagues are “NON-CONTACT” thus disregarding this rule is considered aggressive behavior.
     
  2. Control: Urban Rec Event Hosts and management are responsible for managing and maintaining the safety of our members and facilities. You agree to comply with the directions of Urban Rec staff acting in the performance of their duties. Failure to comply with staff requests, directions, or instructions will result in loss of privileges.
     
  3. Disorderly Conduct: You may not engage in disorderly or lewd conduct including disorder associated with alcohol or controlled substances.

In registering as a member of Urban Rec and within the context of the activities of Urban Rec an individual agrees to take part in a spirit of fair play, honesty and within the rules and regulations of Urban Rec. As such the member is expected to:

  • Have read the rules and agree to compete/participate within the rules of the league and Urban Rec.
  • Play within the spirit of the leagues which is to have fun and be social in a sports setting.
  • Compete/participate in a spirit of fair play and honesty.
  • Control your temper. Verbal and/or physical abuse of staff, management and other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport.
  • Refrain from using profane, insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language in the context of the activities. Respect an individuals’ dignity; verbal or physical behaviors that constitute harassment or abuse are unacceptable.
  • Agree to co-operate with the Event Hosts, teammates and opponents as well as address fellow athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, event organizers, spectators and others associated with Urban Rec in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.
  • Treat all participants in your sport as you expect and like to be treated.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants. This includes but is not limited to their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Put the good of the game and your fellow participants safety and enjoyment above the desire to win at all costs.
  • Shake hands with the opposing team at the end of the match.
  • Act in a manner that will bring credit to Urban Rec and yourself, both within and outside the competition arena and/or competition area.

Anyone that fails to adhere to the code of conduct is subject to penalties that include but are not limited to suspension of any length, complete expulsion for an indefinite amount of time, exclusion from other Urban Rec leagues and/or events.
